We enjoyed a delicious lunch here after visiting the Portland Market on Saturday. We ordered lamb dumplings, transparent shrimp dumplings, and salt and pepper shrimp. Every dish was near-perfect, and we even had a few yummy pieces left over to snack on later that evening. I will definitely visit here again next time I'm in the area!

The interior looks like a sports bar but smells delicious! Ha! Be prepared to share your food! We ordered and realized the food comes packed on the plates! Our server was really nice! Omg the pineapple mojito was to die for! They had an amazing pork soup dumpling and the chili oil wontons were good though I added vinegar to the sauce to make it more tangy! I loved the string beans with garlic! My friend got the chow mein and those noodles were BOMB! Please get the sliced cucumber! Such a huge serving but so delicious with a good spice! Wow! Just great all in all! We were definitely pleased and had plenty to take home!

After visiting Powell bookstore we worked up an appetite and wanted something yummy. Dumplings and noodles! We yelped and found Xin Ding Dumpling house in Chinatown. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and a large bar area. It was not busy and we were seated quickly when we arrived. We ordered the following: - Pork Xiao long bao soup dumplings: these were ok. Hubs loved them, I think the wrapper was a bit thick, but it held the soup in well. - Wontons in chili sauce - these were actually my favorite and I can't handle spicy! The chili sauce was flavorful and not mouth burning which was great. I was able to eat them without the sinus waterworks. - Chicken Chow Mein: these noodles hit the spot! The noodles were not doughy, just enough chicken and veggies without being greasy. Overall, our first meal in Portland was yummy! Restrooms could be a bit cleaner. Our server was attentive, the food came out in a timely manner and we were happily ready to head back to the hotel and be in a food coma. Street parking again, download the Kitty parking app and you're good to go. 2024: 27

Food, ambiance, staff, location, everything went well on this 1st time experience. We had siomai, pork buns, xiao long bao and soup! I forgot the name. I like xiao long bao the most. Their siomai looks different from the regular one so im not a fan of that one. Their staff are very attentive, always comes and check and your water will always be filled. Not sure if they have their own parking but we parked in the street - easy. This place is perfect for groups and dates and family like us- we came with kids.

The restaurant is a busy one in the happening Pearl district, it's a large restaurant with plenty of seating. They don't take same day reservations but we had no trouble getting seated , a large group of 6 on a Saturday afternoon for lunch! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The chilli wontons were glorious followed by some great shrimp fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce , chicken chow mein and my favorite dish , the spicy Chongqing chicken!! All of this for below 100 USD, with tip! I deducted a star because it was a hot July weekend and the air conditioning was almost non-functional in the area we were seated at and the fan was not working either. We had to use some mini portable fans we carried with us else it would have been uncomfortable!

If I lived in Portland, Xin Ding would be one of my go-to spots. I'd be a local. I'd drop in for lunch by myself or sit at the bar. I'd bring friends there for their birthdays. I'd go there for my birthday... I just loved this place. We were a party of three and had stumbled upon Xin Ding Dumpling House while walking around Old Town-Chinatown. We were seated right away at one of the tables by the bar. We ended up ordering a lot (our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, plus we didn't know Xin Ding was generous with portions here - we ordered with East Coast prices in mind), and we had a good amount of leftovers. Here's what we ordered for family style: - Green Onion Pancake - Steamed Vegetable Dumplings - Sweet and Sour Chicken (the favorite with my dining companions) - Sesame Chicken - Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Veggies (my pick - very good!) - Stir-fried Cabbage (the sauce was so good) The staff were friendly when they brought us takeaway boxes and the check. Plus, which was an indicator to me that this place is awesome, was that - while we were outside waiting for our Uber, one of the staff poked their head outside and said we could wait inside for our ride since it was late. So nice! Good people! So go to Xin Ding Dumpling House for one of the best meals you'll have when you're in Portland!

It took about 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order. When we arrived, there were only a few customers, yet despite a large number of staff standing around, they all had indifferent expressions (although we knew they weren't assigned to our table). We had the Mandarin Crispy Chicken and the Shrimp with Mixed Vegetable. The food came out surprisingly quickly, around 10 minutes after ordering. The chicken had a balanced flavor rather than being overly intense, and it was delicious. The mixed vegetable dish also had a flavorful style reminiscent of the "Taste Of Sichuan" in Beaverton. While it's common for the staff at Chinese restaurants to lack smiles, with food this delicious, I'm willing to overlook it and would like to come back to try other dishes.

We came into Xin Ding Dumpling house on Friday at 11:30 AM as a party of 2. We were seated right away, and our waiter was attentive. Here is what we enjoyed: Yuzu lager-this was de-LIGHT-ful. You get the yuzu at the end, subtle but present. Egg rolls-the sweet and sour sauce it came with was ACTUALLY sour. As someone who isn't as into sweet things, I couldn't get enough of this sauce. The egg rolls were fresh and crispy. This went perfectly with the yuzu lager, too. Basil chicken: this was savory and satisfying. We enjoyed this with their house black vinegar and their homemade chili oil! Pork xio long bao-we love soup dumplings, and these were exceptional. The broth in these was perfect. We would love to come back- they had some interesting cocktails on their menu that we didn't get a chance to try, and we loved their food. It was a relaxing way to spend a late morning.
